A Flexible Master’s Degree Program

With an emphasis on practicum and fieldwork experience, SLU’s 39-credit M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to help individuals and organizations accomplish changes in behavior that matter. You will learn how to make socially significant changes in behaviors, focused on increasing an individual’s quality of life. Equally important, you will explore your own biases and develop the skills necessary to provide culturally humble services to clients across all settings.

SLU’s ABA program offers online and in-person options, and meets the requirements to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®). You can complete the program in 18 to 36 months, with a tuition rate that won’t change throughout your time in the program.

Today, you will find our graduates working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities; assisting those with mental health concerns including depression and anxiety, and helping organizations to improve culture and performance.

Practicum Opportunities

Our practicum experience follows the requirements for Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork, which means you will complete 1,500 hours and receive more intensive supervision from your Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) supervisor. While working under the supervision of a BCBA, you will master all areas of the BCBA Test Content Outline (6th Ed) and expand your research skills.

Learn from the Best

At SLU, you will learn from applied behavior analysis faculty who are nationally recognized as leaders in their industry and trendsetters for applying the science of ABA to non-traditional settings. Current faculty focus their research on using behavior analysis to advance educational skills, sports performance and leadership skills — and to explain and find solutions for cultural practices that result in inequities for specific populations.
